Indonesian authorities are intensifying search efforts for over 100 individuals missing after the passenger ship Virgo Transport 8 capsized in the Java Sea on September 13. The vessel was on a 20-hour journey from Surabaya, East Java, to Banjarmasin in South Kalimantan when the incident occurred due to adverse weather conditions.

At the time of its capsizing, Virgo Transport 8 was carrying 243 people, including 30 crew members.
